Our Privacy Promise

Written in plain language for parents. Last updated: 24 July 2026.

In short

We receive aggregate page-view counts. Jumble Buddy sends a guess for immediate checking, but guesses are not retained or included in analytics.

What we collect

Thinking Sprouts does not ask children to sign in, create a profile, or enter personal details such as a name, email, or age. We do not run ads, use advertising trackers, or track your child across other websites.

When the site is hosted on Vercel, we receive aggregate page-view counts through Vercel Web Analytics (for example, which pages are visited). Those counts do not include quiz answers, game guesses, or lesson progress.

Site analytics (deployed version)

Vercel Web Analytics shows us totals and trends — not who visited or what a specific child typed. It does not use cookies for ad targeting and does not collect names or contact details.

Jumble Buddy analytics events record outcomes only (for example, whether a round was solved) — never the letters your child guessed.

Hosting logs

Like any website, our hosting provider (Vercel) may keep standard server logs for reliability and security — for example request time, page path, and IP address. We do not use those logs to build child profiles, and we do not add guess text or quiz answers to them.

Where progress is stored

Your child's progress (which lessons they've read, quiz scores, and game stars) is saved only in this browser, on this device, using a feature called local storage. It never leaves the device and is not sent to us or anyone else.

Jumble Buddy word data

Jumble Buddy uses a curated, child-safe word list maintained on our servers. Words are grouped by difficulty and reviewed for age-appropriate spelling and definitions. The full list never downloads to your child's browser — each round is served through our API, and guesses are checked in memory for that request only.

Some reference materials were informed by open data sources. See Credits for license details.

Playing with friends

Play with Friends creates a private room that can only be joined with a six-character code your child shares directly. There are no public or random rooms, and no matchmaking with strangers.

There is no open chat. Inside a room a child can only submit a game answer and send one of four preset friendly reactions. Free-text messages, private messages, images, and links are not possible.

Children choose a temporary play name (suggested by us, or a single word with letters only). We ask them not to use their full real name, and we do not collect email addresses, ages, or contact details.

Room data lives in temporary server storage and is deleted automatically — shortly after a game ends, and in all cases within a few hours. Game answers are checked in memory and are never written to logs or analytics.

There are no advertisements, no public profiles, no open chat, and no links that let children message or share with strangers.

You are in control

You can clear saved progress at any time from the For Parents page, or by clearing your browser's site data.
